Privacy Policy

MPJ collects the information necessary to operate the journal: account details for authors, reviewers, and editors; manuscript content and metadata submitted for review; and aggregate, privacy-conscious usage data (page views, downloads, search queries) about the public website. The journal collects no more than this operation requires.

Account and manuscript information is used solely to run the editorial and publication process — matching reviewers to manuscripts, sending status notifications, and producing the published record. It is not sold, and is not used for purposes unrelated to operating the journal.

Unpublished manuscripts, reviewer identities (under the journal’s double-anonymized review model), and internal editorial notes are kept separate from public data at every level of the system — storage, access control, and logging — and are never exposed through the public website, its API, or any notification sent to an author.

Specific retention periods for drafts, declined reviewer invitations, and rejected manuscripts have not yet been finalized; they will be set once the journal finalizes its records policy.

Authors, reviewers, and editors may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their own account information by contacting the editorial office (see Contact), subject to what the editorial and publication record must retain for the integrity of published articles.
