The Medical Physics Journal is an Open Access journal: published articles are freely available to read, without a subscription or paywall, from the moment they are published.

The journal’s specific Open Access license is currently being finalized and will be published here, and on every article page, once approved. No license — for example, a Creative Commons license such as CC BY 4.0 — is assumed or displayed before then.

The copyright holder for published articles (the authors, or the journal, depending on the final license terms) has not yet been finalized. It will be published here once decided, alongside the license itself.

MPJ requires authors to pay a publication fee for accepted manuscripts before final publication. This requirement is confirmed. Publication fee details — including the amount, accepted currencies, and the payment procedure — will be announced by the journal before the fee applies to any submission. The journal’s waiver and refund policies, if any, will be published alongside the fee amount once finalized.

The publication fee never influences peer review or the editorial decision. Payment is requested only after a manuscript has been accepted on scientific merit, and acceptance is never presented as contingent on an author’s ability or willingness to pay. Peer review, editorial decision-making, and fee collection are handled as separate stages of the workflow, by design.

Whatever license is ultimately adopted, authors retain the right to be identified as the authors of their work and to have it cited accurately. Full detail on what authors, and readers, may do with a published article will be published alongside the confirmed license.
