The Medical Physics Journal (MPJ) is a peer-reviewed, Open Access journal publishing original research, reviews, and clinical reports across the full breadth of medical physics — from treatment planning and dosimetry to diagnostic and nuclear medicine imaging, radiation protection, and emerging computational and AI-based methods. Governance and independence

Medical Physics Journal (MPJ) is edited with independent editorial governance: decisions rest with the journal’s own editorial leadership — its Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, and Editorial Board — on scientific grounds alone, regardless of who publishes the journal. Medical Physics Journal (MPJ) is published by the Iraqi Medical Physics Society, which holds no role in editorial or peer-review decisions.

How the journal operates

Three editorial commitments are fixed policy, not provisional plans:

• Open Access — every published article is freely readable, with no subscription or paywall. See Open Access, Copyright & Licensing.
• Double-anonymized peer review — authors and reviewers are kept mutually anonymous throughout review. See Peer Review Process.
• A publication fee applies to accepted manuscripts, kept structurally separate from the editorial decision itself. The exact amount is still being finalized — see the fee section of Open Access, Copyright & Licensing.

Editorial leadership
